About The Project
-
For more than 20 years, Diamond Fresh Milk had built a place in the everyday lives of Indonesian families.
The challenge was not to make the brand look completely new.
It was to make a familiar product feel more relevant to today's family while preserving the visual cues that generations of consumers already associated with Diamond Milk.
JED Creative was brought in to redesign the packaging and refresh the brand's presence on shelf.
-
When a brand has been around for decades, its packaging carries more than information.
It carries memory.
The red barn and imagery of the cow had become important visual associations with Diamond Milk. Removing them entirely would mean throwing away valuable brand equity.
Instead, we treated these elements as a foundation to build upon.
-
The redesign retains the recognisable red barn and cow imagery while introducing a cleaner, more contemporary composition.
The visual hierarchy was simplified to make the product easier to understand at shelf, while typography, layout and colour were refined to give the overall range a fresher and more modern character.
The result is familiar enough to remain recognisably Diamond, but contemporary enough to speak to a new generation of consumers.
-
Milk is an everyday product, often bought for the whole family.
The packaging therefore needed to balance trust, nutrition and appetite appeal without becoming overly clinical or overly childish.
The new design creates a warmer and more contemporary expression that can appeal across generations—from parents choosing milk for their children to younger consumers making their own choices.
-
The redesign needed to work across multiple variants, including Fresh, All Natural, Non-Fat, Chocolate, Strawberry and Cappuccino.
Rather than designing each flavour as an isolated package, we created a consistent visual architecture that makes the range feel like one family. Each variant has enough distinction to be easily identified, while the master brand remains strong and recognisable across the shelf.
